Neck Practice
A slow, gentle movement that releases the neck, steadies blood pressure and clears the head.
It increases circulation to the brain, helps regulate and stabilise blood pressure, and balances the vagus nerve.
What Neck Practice is for
- Improves posture, balance and spinal alignment
- Increases circulation to the brain
- Helps regulate and stabilise blood pressure
- Supports better functioning of the thyroid and the sinuses
Please note
- Major vessels and nerves run through the neck — stretch very slowly.
- Always go very slowly and in synchrony with the breath; done fast or with jerks it can cause serious harm, and can be dangerous with certain pre-existing conditions.
- Avoid with uncontrolled hypertension, atherosclerosis, sprain or fainting.
These are powerful yogic practices for overall wellbeing, not a substitute for medical care. If you have a serious or acute health condition, a recent injury or surgery, or are pregnant, please consult your doctor first and speak with the teacher before registering. Always practise under a qualified teacher's guidance, within your own comfort, as instructed.
